In retirement, I find myself still in psychoanalytic treatment for PTSD that began in my childhood.
My therapy influences the content of my art, my dreams, and the books I choose to read. Conversly, what I read, dream and draw influences my therapy.
Therapy, art, dreams and reading weave together like the threads in the piece of gauze through which I experience the world.
Happily, the gauze is beginning to fray. I am able to spend more time in the present and in reality. I am lucky to have found an excellent Doctor who helps me pull out the threads one at a time.
I hope my artwork and words describing my experience living with PTSD can help you.
